Soap Notes: Lavender is the name given to 28 species of the genus Lavandula, a member of the MINT family. Grown primarily for its fragrant flowers, it is used in soaps, perfumes and lotions; and also as a pharmaceutical antiseptic. Lavender is native to the Mediterranean region and is cultivated commercially, primarily in Italy and southern France.
