Bridges of Lincoln County

Chitwood
Chitwood Covered Bridge was built in 1926. It spans the Yaquina River
and is 96 feet long. In 1984 it was refurbished, partly through the efforts of
the Covered Bridge Society, costing approximately $244,000.
Yachats
The full name of this covered brige is: North Fork Yachats River,
which is also the name of the waterway it spans. It is one of the
shortest bridges, at 42 feet, but one of the most picturesque.
Drift Creek

Drift Creek Covered Bridge was originally built in 1914, then demolished and rebuilt over
Bear Creek in 1999. It is 66 feet long and is maintained by private citizens in Lincoln County.

There are four covered bridges in Lincoln County. I wasn't able to locate Fisher School Covered Bridge, after traveling many miles up Forest Service Road No. 141. Interesting, that all three bridges I visited here are red.
