Bridges of Marion County

Gallon House
Gallon House Covered Bridge was built in 1915 and is 84 feet long. It
crosses over the Abiqua Creek. It appears to have been named because
it was a way-point for running liquor from Mt. Angel, a "wet" town, to
folks in Silverton, a "dry" town before prohibition.
Stayton-Jordan
Stayton Jordan Covered Bridge has quite a history. Originally built
in 1937, it spanned Thomas Creek and was named Jordan. In 1988 it was
relocated to Pioneer Park in Stayton, Oregon. Fire destroyed the bridge
during the Christmas season, 1994. It was rebuilt in 1998 with a full
dedicational ceremony.
