Super Bowl 2009 is in the books, and we are looking toward Super Bowl 2010! Did your tabloid psychic predict the winning team? Hey, who wouldn't want to know the outcome in advance? Well, back in 1981, world renowned psychic, David Guardino, predicted that Philadelphia would beat San Diego in Super Bowl XVI. The Las Vegas resident seemed to have no explanation when the San Francisco 49ers walked away with a 26-to-21 win over the Cincinnati Bengals 21.
David published the following list of predictions in the Globe tabloid magazine on December 22, 1981:

False: San Francisco 49ers 26, Cincinnati Bengals 21 A movie role will launch Mickey Rooney on what will be the most successful phase of his decades-long career. False: He received an honorary Oscar in recognition of his 60 years of versatility and variety of memorable film performances. Scientists will find cures for several common types of cancer. False: Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation was founded. Still no cure. Cher will move from singing into other fields of entertainment. True: Cher landed her first major role in an off-Broadway musical. She returned to singing five years later. Flamboyant piano virtuoso Liberace will marry for reasons other than love. False: The elderly pianist was hit with a $113 million palimony suit from a jilted male lover. Country singer Kenny Rogers will retire.
